Keeping up with my perspective

Kennedy, Kirkwood, Kontroller, K-Nine, Kicking, Kleaning, Krazy, Kan’t keep up


This picture was me trying to put everything I do in one picture. 6 things that i deal with a lot, all listed in my 10 work flash fiction above. Kennedy and kirkwood represented by the two backpacks, as I have a bag for each school. A soccer ball to show what sport I am deeply involved in. A controller in my hand, because I really enjoy playing games to kind of chill and break away from stress. My Texas roadhouse shirt to show here I work and where i am very much involved. Lastly my dog Indy, that i love and always comes to meet me at the door when I come from work or school or wherever. I also have headphones on as a representation of me trying to block out all the noise of all these things demand of me and it can sometimes be to much. As the treadmill represents me having to run  or “keep up” with these 6 things. The thing with starting all the words with k is kind of just random, it started to be more of a consistency to me.

 Most people don't care about other people's perspective and are just worried about themselves. There is the saying “put yourself in someone else's shoes”. But we don’t like that when it’s us that have to change perspectives.
When we watched the “Race” video on YouTube, it showed how your past and your experience can affect your future and make others look at you differently. It can put others ahead of you and make you look like you have gone through more obstacles than others. The activity we did with the ink clots was to show us how we see things and if we changed positions, we may see something else. But it’s not always physically changing positions, it could also be more mentally or emotionally. The privilege test showed me how much of Kennedy is privileged and generally how the class is privileged and what our perspective is. My last example is the paper ball activity. We all stood up, and the expectation was the same for all

of us, make your shot. But it was more difficult for the people farther away because of their perspective. This was my favorite activity because it really made me understand perspective. I really do like the idea of perspective and how you are treated and act at a young age, can change how you see everything later in life. It made me see how privileged I am and gave me more of the ability to put myself in someone else’s shoes.

    I can definitely agree that most people dont care about other peoples perspectives, that happens alot in kennedy!

    I really like the image and the artist's statement a lot, they not only show who you are but what you work for and value. To me, when I first saw the image what I liked is that I felt that the treadmill really tied things together. To me I saw the things you valued and work for and the treadmill as moving forward and taking those values and the hard work with you or at least the lessons you have learned from them with.

    I also enjoyed the paper ball activity because it made me realize that while I was at an advantage, other people weren't and it helped me change my perspective on those types of things.

Taller Mountains to Climb

Taller Mountains to Climb Made it this far, not knowing what the world could bring. Authors Note: I chose this picture of me in Colorado because I believe that there is a deeper meaning than me just standing on a rock. I think the rock can represent a strong start, but you can see in the background of the picture that there are bigger rocks to climb. I think this can relate to my life because I am about to graduate, which can be compared to the rock I am standing on. On the other hand, I know that there are bigger rocks and a bigger meaning to life than just high school. Although high school is a good start there is always those “bigger rocks” or bigger problems that I must climb over. Smile and Pursue happiness, not negativity Artist statement I pick this image because this shows my personality and my mood during my everyday life. The image and text work together to show you that I like to be happy and positive and not be negative all the time. The color and brightness work together to represent positivity.  Reflection People don’t think about that they have a bias.
